I draw on 35 years experience of working in the diagnostics field in the NHS. As a registered Clinical Scientist, with a proven track record in scientific research, I can see through the hype surrounding many new fads and seek out the evidence-based solutions that will make a difference.
“After a career working in healthcare diagnostics, I am left with no doubt that nutrition and lifestyle are the keys to health and wellbeing”.
In my career as a clinical laboratory director in the NHS, I routinely reported diagnostic blood test results to doctors and nurses. It became apparent that a lot of illness we see today is due to poor diet and nutrition.
Since leaving the NHS, I decided to train as a nutrition practitioner and use my scientific knowledge and experience to approach the problem from a different direction.
By giving practical advice on diet and nutrition based on sound, scientific principles, I want to help people ‘get well, be well and stay well’.
But there is an over-abundance of information telling us what we should eat and how we should exercise – every day new ‘advice’ is published – and much of it is conflicting!
So where do we start? I aim to cut through the profusion of information regarding diet and health and focus on the facts that make a difference.
